BIA Digital Partners

BIA Digital Partners LP (the "Fund") is a private mezzanine fund with $88 million in available funding that provides subordinated debt and preferred equity for private telecommunications, media, entertainment and information services companies throughout the United States. The Fund's objective is to provide flexible, cost effective junior capital that allows companies to respond to opportunities and thus enhance shareholder value. The emphasis is on growth capital for businesses that are undertaking an acquisition, management buyout, recapitalization, or growing organically. Companies will generally operate in communications segments with recurring revenue streams and have a regulatory or economic franchise. Investments can range between $2 million and $6 million, with up to $25 million available through co-investment from limited partners.

The Fund's formation was in direct response to the lack of mezzanine capital available for small to medium-sized communications companies. Larger companies can tap the public markets (high yield, convertible preferred, etc.) but smaller firms, have few options for a "middle layer" of capital. The Fund is licensed as a Small Business Investment Company (SBIC) by the U.S. Small Business Administration.
